Amazing!

A picture began circulating in November. It should be "The Picture of the Year," or perhaps, "Picture of the Decade." It won't be. In fact, unless you obtained a copy of the U.S. paper which published it, you probably would never have seen it.

The picture is that of a 21-week-old unborn baby named Samuel Alexander Armas, who is being operated on by surgeon named Joseph Bruner. The baby was diagnosed with spina bifida and would not survive if removed from his mother's womb. Little Samuel's mother, Julie Armas, is an obstetrics nurse in Atlanta. She knew of Dr. Bruner's remarkable surgical procedure. Practicing at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, he performs these special operations while the baby is still in the womb.

During the procedure, the doctor removes the uterus via C-section and makes a small incision to operate on the baby. As Dr. Bruner completed the surgery on Samuel, the little guy reached his tiny, but fully developed hand through the incision and firmly grasped the surgeon's finger. Dr. Bruner was reported as saying that when his finger was grasped, it was the most emotional moment of his life, and that for an instant during the procedure he was just frozen, totally immobile.

The photograph captures this amazing event with perfect clarity. The editors titled the picture, "Hand of Hope." The text explaining the picture begins, "The tiny hand of 21-week-old fetus Samuel Alexander Armas emerges from the mother's uterus to grasp the finger of Dr. Joseph Bruner as if thanking the doctor for the gift of life."

Little Samuel's mother said they "wept for days" when they saw the picture. She said, "The photo reminds us pregnancy isn't about disability or an illness, it's about a little person" Samuel was born in perfect health, the operation 100 percent successful. Now see the actual picture, and it is awesome...incredible....and hey, pass it on! The world needs to see this one!

Neglect

Neglect is something you,  my blog followers, are going to have to deal with =( I've tried and tried to be a more attentive blogger for you.. I just can't find the time... soooo deal with it ;-)

Our weekend was another perfect one!

Friday day we had play group at World Class. Kennah is such a big girl now, she found her friend Jersey from school and ran off to play (hence there not being many pictures of her)

After crawling though inch deep chalk under a trampoline I decided it was time to come home.. I found my monkey cleaning his toes on the way home.

We came home and ordered lunch with our friends Erin and Marley... and Landon and Mar played all afternoon until it was time to pick up Mikayla and head to see the new movie Dolphin Tale (which we all loved!)
Friday night we had wrestling duals. It was the last one and Mikayla finished it with a bang. She pinned her opponent (which also happens to be her best friend Teagan) so the win was bittersweet. We had a lazy Friday evening after duals.. ate a late night dinner and watched our DVR'd Ultimate Fighter.

Saturday we took the kids to the Oktoberfest

This magician was a total crack head... it was by far the worst "magic show" I'd ever seen... Mikayla kept calling him out on his mistakes.. so we walked away =)

Then we headed down to Steeleville to see my dad, step mom, brother, and sister.

The girls ended up staying the night at my dads, so Mic, Landon, and I came home, watched the fights and went to bed!

Sunday we got up and got ready for the bears game =)

and even though they lost, we still had a fabulous day of relaxing!

So that was our weekend in a nutshell.. ( I had to leave out details or you would still be reading this as I posted my next weekends wrap up!)

here's how my little cutie looked for school today....

and these are my new guilty pleasure...
Why do all the good things have to be "limited edition"?!?!?!

and here's the one thing one of the things I bought today...

To justify it.. I had to have a new shirt to wear to the fights this Saturday!

So far my week is going amazing... I hope yours is too!

WARNING: Adult Content

If you don't like to read curse words or have sensitive feelings or if you are just a sissy... Don't read this!

My toilet is clogged cause Kennah put a whole roll of toilet paper in it.. along with two huge turds... I tried to plunge it so long I started to sweat and said FUCK IT!! (Mic came home and unclogged it in two seconds... smart ass!)

My screen door fell off onto the back patio.. once again, Thanks Kennah! I almost broke a nail fixing it.. so I said FUCK IT!! It got hot as hell in here.. until Mic got home and fixed it in 3 seconds.. la-tee-da Mr. Flippin Fix it!

And my Garage door button fell off and I can't find it.. so I couldn't close the garage door.. Mr. Handy Man hasn't found the button yet, but he did figure out how to shut the door. ARRGGHHH!! Its one of those evenings!

But tonight.. Mic is my knight in tin foil.... Love ya  babe!

Out with the old!

I did some Spring  Fall cleaning today that desperately needed done!

AfTer an Hour oF TLC::

I started sorting my shirts by tank tops, tshirts, long sleeves, and hoodies.. but Landon put a hault to that. ( It was lunch time that was immediately followed by nap time)

HerE aRe a Few ThiNgs I'm dOnatIng TO gOoD wIlL::

I have to do this about 2 a year because I get such an over load of clothes I don't wear anymore. The kids are the same way.. I probably donate at least 35 trash bags FULL of clothes a year... It's ridiculous! I'm sure I made someone happy with all the Abercrombie, Hollister, American Eagle, and Under Armour that I donated today!

Tellin you how I really feel!

I'm proud to say that I made to back to the gym today!! I'm hoping that I am back on the path to getting my body back to what it was pre-Landon. I have about 10 pairs of jeans that I can't wear because my booty and hips are just too big not as small as they once were and I would REALLY love to be able to fit in them without holding my breath =)

This morning has completely wore me out! I got up,  took Mikayla to school, hit up the gym, came home and showered and headed back out to the grocery store (with my LoNg list), came home put all the groceries away, made lunch and started dinner (cut up the chicken, steak, and veggies for kabobs and put it into a marinade) AND folded and put away a load of laundry. I really wish I could climb back into bed and take a nap but I gotta pick Mikayla up from school in a few minutes, take Kennah to gymnastics, come home make dinner and head out to wrestling practice. (Yes I'm whining)

SoOooOo planned my whole week of meals, looked up recipes, and made a list for the grocery store! I got everything I needed so wish me luck on sticking to the planned menu this week! Hopefully having everything planned and bought will discourage us from grabbing dinner on the go, cause lord knows THAT doesn't help my non-fitting skinny jean ass! I also have quit drinking soda (I know.. look at me go!)

I've pretty much over Facebook. I thought about deactivating it, but its not that serious so I'm just gonna not check it as often.  I like keeping in contact with everyone so I'll keep it for that reason, but I'm just tired of the stupid  "TBT" and "Please just for one hour post this" CRAP that I see on there daily.... and I really think Facebook makes me hate the human race in general. People are SO stupid sometimes.. It makes me want to call them out BUT I'm trying to stay drama FREE so I just keep my mouth shut. I know what you are thinking.. "just delete them" right?!? Well I did.. and they readd me and I'm a nice person so I readd them. *sigh* THIS is my battle with FB!

Mini-Weekend Wrap-up = Friday we had wrestling duals again, came home relaxed, watched TV for a bit and hit the sheets... we were wore out for some reason.  Saturday we got up kinda early and headed over to the in-law's so the girls could shoot their BB gun and I could shoot the 22 Mic got for squirrel  hunting. The girls decided they wanted to stay with Namaw & Papa all day and night so Mic, Landon, and I went to Hulihans and grabbed some lunch and headed over to the mills mall. We had fun shopping and grabbed dinner at Tony Romo's... we can home and watched a movie and went to bed. Sunday we picked the girls up and came home and relaxed, ate chili, watched football, and worked on laundry until we headed back over to the mills to pick up a gun we bought Saturday (we got a little pink 22 for Mikayla to shoot) and came back home and chilled till bed! It was a nice laid back, no plans type of weekend!

That's all I got for now!!

Weird Wednesday

Is it weird that I feel super guilty when Mikayla packs her own lunch for school? She asks if she can please do it but I feel like its my job to do it for her.. it's an inner battle that I fight every morning =)

Is it weird that yesterday was a day that I loved my hubby more than "normal" and today he is driving me crazy? ( I hope he skips out on reading this blog.. if not.. sorry babe.. just being honest!)

Is it weird that I find myself with less and less close friends? Everyone just gets on my nerves... I can't stand people without priorities, good judgement, and a somewhat normal lifestyle. I constantly find myself rolling my eyes and pushing people out of my life.

Is it weird that I hate drinking after anyone.. even my own kids?? I never used to be like that, but now if the girls ask me for a drink of my soda I say "sure, you can just have it though." Slobber and germs just freak me out!

It is weird that I haven't done much of anything productive and I'm already for a nap?? I'm gonna blame it on the rainy weather!

Organization is a Must!

I decided to put together a Home Management Binder after reading about it over HERE at A Daily Dose of Davis.  If you decided to try out this idea you can get all of the print outs I used over there also.

I got my {In} Place Binder, folder insert, and page dividers at Office Max online and it was on my door step within 24 hours! I was impressed! I printed off the pages that I thought I needed, hole punched them, and put them in my binder and whola, I was done!

Here are some pictures of my binder
My nifty little tabs that I printed online at Avery.com

I think this is great for a babysitter or Mikayla... I will let each of them know where to look in case of an Emergency.

The sticky notes are from {In} Place also.

I printed calendars two different ways because I wasn't sure which way I would like better.

I think this will be my favorite part! Dinner planning, here I come!

As much as I hate cleaning.. maybe if I plan what I need to clean on what I, I will be more likely to tackle a few cleaning tasks a day and then there won't be so much to do when I feel it's getting out of hand.

This is good to have it all in one place instead of just in my phone contacts.

There are a few things I would like to add with an address book being one of them. This little project was super easy and will save me a lot of question answering from Mic and the kids when they can just look in the binder and know whats going on! Thanks over at A Daily Dose of Davis for the idea!

Random Thoughts

Since I can't come up with anything interesting to blog about, I'm gonna give you some of the random things that are bouncing around in my brain.

** I just ordered "My Baby Can Read"... I never believed it until Little Miss Marley Federico proved me wrong! SoOOooO today I ordered it to try it out.. I think it may even help Kennah out =)

** I am so ready to summer to go away... I want pants and hoodies.. absolutely no coats.. but hoodies and long sleeves are in definite need.

** I love my husband everyday.. some more than others ** = ) ** and today is one of those days where I love him lots and lots.. He came to Landon's Little Gym class today and actually took his shoes off and came into the gym and played.. it made both me and Landon happy. (It's the little things that mean so much!)

**I can't get Harlo potty trained and its driving me crazy! I'm tired of picking up poop and OMG last night I SLIPPED and almost FELL in a puddle of pee... I.was.pissed! (Mic laughed... I did not.)

**I lost in fantasy football this week in the last 30 seconds of the game by 4 point... now I understand why the guys get a little crabby about it.. but I had to act like I didn't care so Mic doesn't think I'm that into this whole football thing ;-)

**I feel like planning and making dinner consumes most of my day. Between deciding what to make, getting what I need from the store and actually cooking... most of my day is gone! I've been googling some of those meal planners but I refuse to pay for them when I can keep doing it the way I am for free.

**I have no idea how I am going to keep up with three kids when they are all around 10, 7, and 5. I think things are busy now.. I can't imagine what I am going to do when they are all in sports that are during the evening after school... I think I need Prozac and a glass of wine just thinking about it!

**A ride on the Harley is much needed for me... but I can't find the time to =( I'm hoping we can make it work tomorrow night.. it will be nice to get away with the hubby for a few hours... cross your fingers that it works out!

That's enough randomness for me right now.. I'm gonna lay down and close my eyes and try to sleep so Landon wakes up from his nap ;-)

**Weekend Wrap Up**

This weekend was a busy one.. my eyes are burning as I type this because I am just plain exhausted!

Friday--Dropped Mikayla off at school bright and early, Took Harlo to the vet, and headed to Eckerts to grab some apple cookies and apple cider for Mikayla's class ((I'm such an awesome mommy)) just for fun snack =).
Kennah at Eckert's picking up the cookies

Dropped off the snack at school....came home and showered while Mic cleaned out the shed and planted some plants down our driveway. I picked Mikayla up from school and we headed to the nail place to get our nails and toes did up for the weekend. I absolutely L.O.V.E. my nail place.. they all know me and my girls by name and its just so "comfy" in there! After we were done, we ran to Rural King to grab some bullets for the new 22 Mic got for me  him to go hunting with, came home, ate and headed to the Belleville Judo Club so Mikayla could wrestle her duals. She lost her match 10-2 but she fought her little heart out so I was a happy momma. After duals we stopped at Smoothie King and then headed to Wal-Mart for a few things. Mikayla's best friend Teagan stayed the night with us that night, Kennah went to stay the night with his family and Landon stayed at Namaw and Papa's since we were at the duals so late... Came home from Wal-Mart.. watched TV for a bit and called it a night.
Mic in his hunting gear, with his new 22, and his hound dog
(he's a little special.. I know, but he always makes me laugh)
Saturday--Mikayla & Teagan were up by 7, playing Nintendo DS and watching TV... I didn't get up until about 8.. I was just too sleepy! When I got up I got dressed, got the kiddos ready and decided to take them out to Steak n Shake for breakfast. Mic and Landon met us there... we got kinda crappy service and Landon made a HUGE mess.. but the food was yummy =)
Here's Teagan and Mikayla at breakfast
After breakfast we ran to Target to get a birthday card for Mikayla's friend Calie.... and I may of gotten a few other things =)
((I always spend WAY too much at Target.. its my weakness))
Here's Landon in a super cute hat that he wouldn't leave on his head so I didn't buy it =(
After Tar-Jay we came home, I got ready and we headed out to watch Nick ((I call Nick my other son because we love him to death.. he's practically ours during wrestling season)) play some football at the Little Knights

From there I dropped Mic and Landon off and headed to Chuck E Cheese for a birthday party. Mikayla & Teagan had a blast! They had a lot of new games there... it was a pretty good time, I gotta admit.

I met Mindy (Teagan's momma and my bestest friend) and we did a kid swap. I came home and we went out to shoot the girls BB gun in the yard... they LOVE doing this.

We had a little bonfire outside and played this silly game we got at Rural King called "Flickin' Chicken." Came in.. cleaned all my monkey's and they were all out by 9:30 and me and Mic watched x-men... well I slept and he watched it =)

Sunday--Today is 9/11 and its all I've thought about today... I love the way our country pulls together when need be.. and stands up for ourselves.  I love the way NOBODY has forgotten all of those involved in that horrible day.
Here is a picture I took today... I love it.
We took the girls to a Cardinal Game today. It was hot at first but then the shade covered us and it was PERFECT!

We had dinner with My mom and step-dad at Texas Road house, came home and let the kids play outside and shoot the BB gun ((Mic even let me shoot him in the butt...I about died laughing.. he was too dang funny!))
Until it was time for baths... and now ((thank you sweet baby Jesus)) its bed time for all my babies!! Hope your weekend was a great as mine! =)
