Shu Fly

About a week ago I noticed what I thought were gnats (or pecker gnats as my hubby calls them) flying around in my master bathroom.. particularly around Mic's toothbrush--DISGUSTING! I thought they would just go away but every time I went into the bathroom they were multiplying by the dozens. I started thinking they were going to take over my house if I didn't do something quick so I did some research and figured out that they were fruit flies and decided to try this out.

I filled the bottom of the container with a little wine.. (Arbor Mist is all I had and it worked fabulously) and a couple drops of dish soap
I covered it with foil and poked holes in it.
About 10 minutes after I sat it out it already had like 10 fruit flies in it! Here's what is looks like 12 hours later!

This gives me the heebie jeabies just looking at it, but thank you sweet baby Jesus that these things are in dead in the container and not swarming around my bathroom sink anymore!

What I got into this weekend...

I didn't get into a whole lotta anything really--kinda nice.  Friday my hubby worked on this "thang"
--Prepare yourself..I'm about to get sidetracked!--

((insert long and meaningful *sigh* here)
Let me stop you for a second and tell you about this battle I've been fighting the last (at least) 3 years..

So.. it started with this 1902 (ok not really that old) box truck, that I called a bread truck.. or pedophile van.. it was H.O.R.R.I.B.L.E.-- I fought with him, and bitched at him, and whined at him to PLEASEEEE get rid of it! After three years of madness..he finally got rid of it! He towed it to the scrap yard.. Yeah! It was that big of a piece of crap!
Then he "does a roof" for another hunk of junk work truck.. and now IT sits on the side of our his shed (and that flippin' shed is another story in itself!).
So lemme break it down for ya- I have a hunk of junk white truck in my side drive way.. a flat bed trailer in front of my house, and a big boat of a car in this unfinished shed next to my cute 3 year old house. It's a never ending battle I tell ya... and I'm definitely not winning it either!

SO ANY WHO-- Friday while my hubby and some of his friends worked on that "thang", I stayed inside, made a big crock pot of chili to feed all those hungry working men, and hung out with the kiddos. He worked till midnight.. I went to bed without him.

Saturday was another full day of working on that "thang" for the husband, so he gave me some cash and I packed the kids up and headed to the mall & Toys R Us---- MISTAKE!! I was a huge ball of stressed out crabbiness by the time I made it home.. Christmas music & Christmas decor (in early November), an enormous amount of shoppers, and three kids had officially pushed me over my limit. I got home and stayed home... made coke roast (recipe by the cockin' girls) and chilled the rest of the night.

Sunday my hubs didn't work on the car but don't worry, he was busy jumping up and down on my nerves! Fantasy football and craigslist can officially kiss my ass-- because this is ALL he wants to do! I love Mic to death, but men just don't get it.. they really don't. Just because you are "present" in the house, doesn't mean you are helping me in any which way or form. The kids were crabby and so were mommy and daddy.. so I slipped out to go tan (and breathe). Came home and felt better.. got ready and headed out to a Scentsy party. That went well.. I really do love selling Scentsy. Came home with some KFC for din din and went to bed early.

This last weekend wasn't one of my most exciting, fun, or eventful weekends but it was nice to just be at home.. get my laundry caught up.. eat some home cooked meals and just be with my kids.  Today has been a day like that too... the rain pretty much kept me in all day and it was nice.  Anyway--Hope ya'll have a good week..I'm sure gonna try =))

PS-I know it sounds like I was kinda husband bashing.. but I really wasn't trying to.. I know he loves that "thang" and I'm ok with that (I just don't) so we will just have to agree to disagree on this one!

Christmas Dresses

These are the Christmas dresses I got for the girls.. Love them!

Ho Ho Ho

Whelp, Christmas is 49 days away and I am more than prepared! I only have a few people left to shop for!! I have NEVER shopped so early and I'm really pumped up about being almost done! Today I took the kids out to get a few Christmas gifts and I even grabbed a few for them and they didn't even notice... I'm such a sneaky little Santa! Here's some of the stuff I've gotten them =)) ((They are gonna be SO excited!))

Landon = Done.

Kennah = One Last Gift to buy.. then done.

Mikayla = One last gift to buy... then done.

This is the last thing I need to get besides stocking stuffers for the girls:

Now that isn't everything I got for the kids.. some stuff I couldn't find pictures of because I couldn't remember exactly what they were called, but that's most of it. This year I didn't spend the exact same amount of money on each kid.. I try to keep it around the same, but I did get the exact same amount of gifts. I can't wait to see how excited they are this year.

This is the app. that has helped keep me organized... it has made my life so much easier!

Christmas.

Since the mall and Toys R Us were so incredibly crazy today.. I won't be doing anymore "in store" shopping.. I will be Amazon-ing it up from here on out =))

Wrappin it up

So I saw this on another blog and I'm gonna try it out to shorten my weekend wrap up...

What we did:
*Spent mucho time with my family. Saw my dad, step mom, brother and sister on Saturday & mom step dad, niece, grandpa and grandma on Sunday. I love weekends like that!

*Did enjoy the weather! I hear its going to be chilly out this week so the kids played out side a ton this weekend.

*Did eat on the go wayyy to much! This week I've gotta try to fit in a home cooked meal at least four nights.. I'm sick to death of fast food!

* Got a speeding ticket... Boooo! 72 in a 55 on my way home from my dads Saturday. I knew the cop.. he asked how I've been, if I'm married now, and If I had kids (they were in the back seat) BUT he still have me a dang ticket!

What we didn't do:
*We  I didn't do a single spec of laundry.. so tomorrow I must pay for it and catch back up on the heaping pile that is overtaking my bathroom!

*Didn't get to see my husband much at all this weekend.. he worked ALL weekend.. so it was just me and my trio of monkeys!

*Didn't have any plans.. kinda did what we wanted and when we wanted to do it.. and I L.O.V.E weekends like that!

*Stay up past 9... that's how you know how domesticated I have become! I'm in bed before the time I used to leave to go out!

So.. that was our weekend. It was a pretty good one minus the fact that I didn't get to see Mic much. I have no pictures to share with you either! Our weekend was THAT uneventful! Now I'm gonna watch my Fantasy Football and the Cardinal game on my phone cause Mic broke our TV in the living room and he's been sleeping since 7 in the bedroom! **Sigh**

10 Whole Days

It's been TEN days since I've last spoke to you, so I'm just gonna give you some random things I've done or had on my mind.. otherwise I'd take up your evening with pictures and details of my last week and a half.. so I'll spare ya this time.

Last weekend we had a stand at the Chili Cook off... it was a TON of work! I alone, cooked 70lbs of hamburger and made 65 gallons of chili! The cook off was Friday 11am-10pm and Saturday 11am-10pm.. let me tell you, it was a long.two.days! After the cook off we hopped on the bikes and rode to a bar in Collinsville to have a relaxing drink. While we were there we got a text from Mic's dad telling us our final amount made from the cook off. Sadly.. we broke even. Talk about disappointing! We had planned on taking the money we raised and buying Christmas presents for needy kids and than riding the bikes to take them the presents. Something charitable and fun for the bike club to do. Guess we will have to try another fundraiser to raise the money!

Wednesday I met with a councilor at SWIC and got the ball rolling on signing up for school in January. I'm going to be a full time student again working on a degree in Administrative of Justice... that's right ladies and gents... this momma is gonna be a COP! I'm pretty excited about it.. I think its a career that's right up my ally. If you know me, you know I'm not scarred to stand up for what I believe in and not afraid of conflict. I'm confident that I will make a great police officer =)

Today was Kennah's first school field trip! We woke up to a dark and gloomy morning, Kennah was coughing her poor little head off, and I didn't have a sitter so I had to take Landon with us.. but we were determined to make the best of the day! It ended up being a lot of fun! Kennah had a blast.. and Landon and mommy did too =)
Here's a few pictures from today:

So that's the high lights of my week and a half.. here is some random thoughts for ya:

* I'm pretty excited about the Cardinals winning lately! Last night we  Mic watched Transformers 3 (I think it was 3... anyway, the new one!) and I watched the game on my phone! Can we say NERD! Can't help it.. I've always loved the Red Birds.. and I'm so pumped that they could make it to the  world series again!

* Confession Time! 1) I feel like I yell at my kids too much... I need something to calm my nerves... Prozac, Marijuana, Whisky.. not sure what... just something! Before I have a stroke!
2) I totally had two confessions.. and after typing number one.. I forgot my second one... damn it!

* I bought all the kids costumes yesterday! and I can't wait for Halloween now! All of their party supplies (craft's and party bag stuff) came in from oriental trading and costumes are on their way... Fall is among us!! Which also means Christmas is right around the corner!! I've started shopping already! -- well kinda.. I bought one little gift! =)

*OH!! I remember what my number "2" confession was! --- The fact that I only have 8 followers, keeps me from blogging often.. I kinda feel like I'm waisting my time =(

Any Who, I gotta wash and get little man outta the tub before he turns into a prune! (no worries ya'll, I'm sitting tub side with my laptop... You didn't really think I left him in the bathroom alone did ya?!?!) Have a good night!!

These are my confessions..

ConfessioN #1- I'm crabby, emotional, and fed up with bullshit today, so I figured what better to post today than my confessions!

ConfessioN #2- I'm officially D.O.N.E with fake people... If you don't like me, what I say, how I act, my Facebook status', my brutal honesty, or anything else involving me... Go fuck yourself. (I was going to apologize for saying "fuck".. But I'm not sorry)

ConfessioN #3- I'm tired of being the only one around my house that's cooks or cleans.. I understand I'm a stay at home mom and that my husband works but damn.. A load of laundry or unloading the dish washer once a month isn't gonna kill him!

ConfessioN #4- I haven't gone to the gym in 5 days and I-Don't-Care!! So ha!

ConfessioN #5- I hate wearing jeans.. Absolutely freakin hate it.. So, I never do.. Unless I have to... I rock VS's Pink (Black) yoga pants and I don't care what anyone thinks... Them bitches are comfy!

ConfessioN #6- Chris Coleman just came up in my "people you may know" on Facebook (which I do) but it kinda freaked me out... I know someone who killed three people.. That is pretty damn scary.

ConfessioN #7- I have more confessions, but I just can't put my business out there like that.. It's a blog, not a diary =P

Amazing!

A picture began circulating in November. It should be "The Picture of the Year," or perhaps, "Picture of the Decade." It won't be. In fact, unless you obtained a copy of the U.S. paper which published it, you probably would never have seen it.

The picture is that of a 21-week-old unborn baby named Samuel Alexander Armas, who is being operated on by surgeon named Joseph Bruner. The baby was diagnosed with spina bifida and would not survive if removed from his mother's womb. Little Samuel's mother, Julie Armas, is an obstetrics nurse in Atlanta. She knew of Dr. Bruner's remarkable surgical procedure. Practicing at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, he performs these special operations while the baby is still in the womb.

During the procedure, the doctor removes the uterus via C-section and makes a small incision to operate on the baby. As Dr. Bruner completed the surgery on Samuel, the little guy reached his tiny, but fully developed hand through the incision and firmly grasped the surgeon's finger. Dr. Bruner was reported as saying that when his finger was grasped, it was the most emotional moment of his life, and that for an instant during the procedure he was just frozen, totally immobile.

The photograph captures this amazing event with perfect clarity. The editors titled the picture, "Hand of Hope." The text explaining the picture begins, "The tiny hand of 21-week-old fetus Samuel Alexander Armas emerges from the mother's uterus to grasp the finger of Dr. Joseph Bruner as if thanking the doctor for the gift of life."

Little Samuel's mother said they "wept for days" when they saw the picture. She said, "The photo reminds us pregnancy isn't about disability or an illness, it's about a little person" Samuel was born in perfect health, the operation 100 percent successful. Now see the actual picture, and it is awesome...incredible....and hey, pass it on! The world needs to see this one!

Neglect

Neglect is something you,  my blog followers, are going to have to deal with =( I've tried and tried to be a more attentive blogger for you.. I just can't find the time... soooo deal with it ;-)

Our weekend was another perfect one!

Friday day we had play group at World Class. Kennah is such a big girl now, she found her friend Jersey from school and ran off to play (hence there not being many pictures of her)

After crawling though inch deep chalk under a trampoline I decided it was time to come home.. I found my monkey cleaning his toes on the way home.

We came home and ordered lunch with our friends Erin and Marley... and Landon and Mar played all afternoon until it was time to pick up Mikayla and head to see the new movie Dolphin Tale (which we all loved!)
Friday night we had wrestling duals. It was the last one and Mikayla finished it with a bang. She pinned her opponent (which also happens to be her best friend Teagan) so the win was bittersweet. We had a lazy Friday evening after duals.. ate a late night dinner and watched our DVR'd Ultimate Fighter.

Saturday we took the kids to the Oktoberfest

This magician was a total crack head... it was by far the worst "magic show" I'd ever seen... Mikayla kept calling him out on his mistakes.. so we walked away =)

Then we headed down to Steeleville to see my dad, step mom, brother, and sister.

The girls ended up staying the night at my dads, so Mic, Landon, and I came home, watched the fights and went to bed!

Sunday we got up and got ready for the bears game =)

and even though they lost, we still had a fabulous day of relaxing!

So that was our weekend in a nutshell.. ( I had to leave out details or you would still be reading this as I posted my next weekends wrap up!)

here's how my little cutie looked for school today....

and these are my new guilty pleasure...
Why do all the good things have to be "limited edition"?!?!?!

and here's the one thing one of the things I bought today...

To justify it.. I had to have a new shirt to wear to the fights this Saturday!

So far my week is going amazing... I hope yours is too!
